The term paper of Fabiana Sarpa de Castro Peixoto Sampaio, a medical student of the Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health, in conjunction with her counselor, Prof. Dr. Milena Bastos Brito, was published in the 13th ESC Congress "Challenges in Sexual and Reproductive Health", held from May 28 to 31, in Lisbon, Portugal.

A study carried out from the Ministry of Health database drew the attention of the attending researchers due to the high rate of teenage pregnancy in Brazil (23.6% in 2001, to 19.3% in 2011) given that in Portugual, where the event was held, the rate is 3%. This proved the need for a more effective family planning policy for the Brazilian population.
